Virtual Support Groups

Approximately 2 million Canadians are living with endometriosis. We believe in empowering people living with endometriosis to come together, share their experiences, resources and more, through accessible virtual support groups. These groups provide a safer, inclusive space for connection and support. You are not alone.

Connect with other people living with endo in a compassionate environment by joining a virtual support group.

Virtual support groups empower people living with endo and improve the quality of life for those in our community.

Twice a month, The Endometriosis Network Canada hosts Canada-wide virtual support groups via Zoom for people living with endometriosis or suspected endometriosis.

Virtual support group community agreements

To nurture a space for compassionate conversations, we’ve created a list of community agreements to help guide our virtual support groups. Please review the agreements before joining a group.

We want everyone to feel safe to share their experience with the group. Whatever is shared in the group, stays in the group.

Group members should only receive medical advice from their healthcare providers. In group, we offer support and share personal experiences.

We are committed to creating a safer, inclusive environment where all members are welcomed and supported without judgment. We respect each other’s personal pronouns and recognize that endometriosis can affect girls, women, two-spirit, transgender and gender-diverse people.

We do not tolerate bullying or hate speech. Degrading or dehumanizing comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, identity, or appearance will not be tolerated.

We are not here to sell or promote anything. This includes self-promotion of websites, blogs, and social media.

How we’ll work together

In addition to our community agreements, we have guidelines for how we’ll work together in our virtual support groups. Please review the guidelines before joining a group.

Privacy & confidentiality: please find a quiet space, away from others, to join a group. If you can’t join from a private space, please use headphones.

Identify yourself: please log in using the same name you registered with. This will help us verify members. Include your pronouns next to your name, if you feel comfortable doing so. Use the chat; take a look at the chat box at the beginning of the meeting. The support group team may use the chat to share important information and to send private messages.

Video: using your camera is optional, but encouraged. Blur your background, use a filter, or temporarily turn off your camera if there are distractions or interruptions in your space.

Sound: keep your microphone muted when you’re not speaking for best sound quality for the group.

Recording: group members are not allowed to record or photograph any part of the meeting (ex. sound, video, screenshots) for privacy reasons.

Triggers: we recognize some subjects may be triggering and everyone’s experience of living with endo is unique. Please send a private message to the team in the chat to let them know if a subject is triggering.

We send out feedback surveys after every meeting. Please feel free to share your thoughts after the meeting using the survey.
